About Us
The Mariners Volleyball Club strives to provide as many athletes as possible the opportunity to participate in Club Volleyball, at the level appropriate for their developmental abilities.
MVC WELCOMES STEPHEN EPP AS
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Stephen brings over 25 years of experience in volleyball, spanning coaching and leadership roles at the high school, club, high-performance, and post-secondary levels. Prior to becoming Executive Director, he served for nine years as the Vancouver Island Regional Manager for Volleyball BC, overseeing all club programming, events, and high-performance initiatives in the region. During this time, he supported the development of athletes and coaches who have gone on to compete in CCAA, U Sports, NCAA, and National Team programs.

2026 Spring Beach Train & Play Programming
Join MVC in our popular Outdoor Programming this Spring. MVC takes our developmental training programs to our local sand courts located in downtown Nanaimo.
Beach training offers a unique and valuable environment for athlete development:
Improved strength and athleticism through resistance-based movement
Enhanced balance, coordination and agility from training in the sandIncreased contacts and skill repetitions, with only two athletes on the court, maximizing engagement and touches on the ball
Great adaptability and game awareness as athletes learn to move efficiently in changing conditions
Advanced decision-making and tactical awareness, as athletes must read opponents, anticipate shots and make intentional choices on every play
Beach season is consistently a favourite among our athletes and families. Be mindful participation is limited.

2026 Spring Beach Doubles Stream
Due to overwhelming success last year, our 14-15U Girls Doubles, 16-18U Girls Doubles or 16-18U Boys Beach Doubles League is back for 2026 Spring Beach Season. This style of league play, offers an opportunity for athletes to come and just play within a competitive environment.
In the Doubles League athletes will participate in a Queen or King of the Beach format that is now being played at a variety of international events. This is a fast–paced competition structure that allows athletes to play within their current skill level vs a variety of other teams.
*Athletes must sign up with a partner but register individually in Sportlomo.

Our popular Spring Break Indoor Youth Volleyball Camps offer a fun, active environment where Grades 3 – 7 athletes can build skills, compete, have fun learning with friends or make new friends and stay engaged and active during the Break.
Camp sessions balance age-appropriate instruction with games and team play, led by experienced, certified coaches.
